How to Set Up the No Match Action Button in BotSailor

The No Match Reply is a fallback response that BotSailor sends when a customer message does not match any configured keyword, trigger, or chatbot flow. Part 1: Enable and Open the No Match Action

Step 1: Enable No Match in Bot Settings

Open the bot you want to configure, clickBot Settings, and make sure theNo Match Replyoption is enabled.

Step 2: Open Quick Actions

Log in to BotSailor and follow this path:

Chatbot Manager → select your bot → Automation → Quick Actions


Step 3: Select the No Match Action Button

TheAction Buttonspage displays the available system actions. SelectNo Matchto open its configuration.

Part 2: Configure the No Match Flow

Step 4: Open the Flow Blocks

After you selectNo Match, BotSailor opens the Flow Blocks where the fallback action can be configured.

Step 5: Configure the Action Button

OpenActions, selectConfigure Action Button, and choose theNo Match button templatefor the action.

Step 6: Configure the Reference and Fallback Response

Open theStart Bot Flowblock and locateConfigure Reference. Review the default text and replace it with the fallback message customers should receive.

You can also extend the response with other content blocks when needed, including text, multimedia, call-to-action elements, and other supported options.

After reviewing the message and block configuration, save or publish the changes available in the interface.

Verification: Test the No Match Reply

Step 7: Send an Unmatched Message

Send a message to the connected WhatsApp business number that does not match any configured keyword, trigger, or chatbot flow.

Expected result:BotSailor should immediately send the fallback response configured in the No Match flow.

Common Troubleshooting

Error: The No Match reply does not appear

Fix:Confirm thatNo Match Replyis enabled in Bot Settings before testing again.

Error: The wrong fallback message is sent

Fix:ReopenAutomation → Quick Actions → No Matchand verify the selected action button template, Configure Reference settings, and default response text.

Error: A known message triggers the No Match reply

Fix:Review the keyword, trigger, and chatbot flow configurations. The No Match reply is intended to run only when no configured automation matches the customer message.

Error: Recent changes are not reflected

Fix:Make sure the action and flow changes were saved or published before sending another test message.
