How to Configure Chat with Human & Chat with Bot Quick Actions for WhatsApp in BotSailor

Go toDashboard > Chatbot Manager > Select Bot (WhatsApp account) > Automation > Quick Actions > Chat with Human / Chat with Bot. These system default actions let a WhatsApp user switch from the bot to a human agent or return from the human conversation to the bot. The same general configuration process is used for both actions.

Prepare the trigger keyword, such asHuman AgentorBot, the message you want to show in the Interactive Message block, and the appropriate system default action for the button.

What Are Chat with Human and Chat with Bot in Quick Actions?

Chat with Human and Chat with Bot are system default actions in BotSailor's WhatsApp automation Quick Actions. They let a user switch the conversation to a human agent or switch the conversation back to the bot.

Part 1: Access Chat with Human / Chat with Bot in Quick Actions

Step 1: Open Quick Actions

From the BotSailor dashboard, navigate to:

Dashboard > Chatbot Manager > Select Bot > Automation > Quick Actions > Chat with Human / Chat with Bot

The setup process is the same for bothChat with HumanandChat with Bot. Select the corresponding action type for the button you are creating.

Part 2: Configure the Action in a Flow Block

Step 1: Configure the Start Bot Flow

  • Navigate to Dashboard > Chatbot Manager > Select WhatsApp account > Automation > Keyword Replies.
  • Double-click the "Start Bot Flow" block.
  • Enter the trigger keyword, for example "Human Agent" or "Bot".
  • Select the keyword matching type, such as String match or Exact match.
  • Provide a title and click "Save Changes".

Step 2: Add an Interactive Message Block

  • Compose the next message and add the "Interactive Message" block to the flow block.
  • Connect it to the "Start Bot Flow" block.
  • Select "Text" as the Header Type, write the confirmation or reason message in the Message Body, and save the settings.

Step 3: Configure the Human Agent / Chat with Bot Button

  • Add a button to the Interactive Message block and configure it.
  • In Button Setup, select "Static" as the method and use "Human Agent" or "Chat with Bot" as the button title.
  • Under Button Action, set "When user presses the button" to "System Default Action Button".
  • Set Action Type to "Chat with Human" or the corresponding bot action shown in your BotSailor interface.
  • Click "Save Changes" to finalize the button configuration.

Part 3: Use the Quick Action from Shared Inbox

Step 1: Open Send Flow or Message Template

You can also use the Chat with Human and Chat with Bot quick actions from the Shared Inbox.

Select the (+) icon at the bottom-left side of the reply panel and choose "Send Flow or Message Template".

A panel will open on the right side of the Shared Inbox. Under Bot Flow, select either the Chat with Human or Chat with Bot template.

Verification: How to Know It Worked

Save the flow block and test it in WhatsApp. Trigger the configured flow and press the action button. The conversation should follow the selected action, moving to a human agent or returning to the bot.

Common Troubleshooting

The source file does not provide separate troubleshooting cases. If the test does not behave as expected, recheck the configuration steps above, especially the trigger keyword, the Interactive Message connection, and the selected System Default Action Button type.
