TL;DR:
To create a WhatsApp message template in BotSailor, go to Dashboard → Chatbot Manager → select your WhatsApp account → Automation → Message Templates. Click Create, choose General Template, complete the required template information, build the message with the Flow Block, review the preview, and save it.

Before You Begin

  • Access to the BotSailor dashboard.
  • A WhatsApp account available in Chatbot Manager.
  • A template name, locale, category, and the message content you want to send.
  • A valid payment method configured in your Meta WhatsApp Business Account. Meta may charge for template messages, so billable template messages may fail if a valid payment method is not available. BotSailor also advises configuring the Meta payment method for template messaging.
  • Meta approval is required before the template can be used. After you create and submit the template, wait until its status changes to Approved. Approval often takes a few minutes or hours, although in some cases it may take up to 24 to 48 hours.
  • Understand the WhatsApp 24-hour messaging window. Within 24 hours of a customer's last message, you can normally send free form messages. After that 24-hour window closes, you must use a Meta approved WhatsApp message template to contact the customer again.
