TL;DR:
BotSailor’s User Input Flow lets businesses collect Telegram user data through interactive questions. You can ask free-text or multiple-choice questions and save responses to custom or system fields, making it useful for lead generation, registrations, surveys, customer preferences, and personalized support.

Collecting customer information through a Telegram chatbot can help businesses generate leads, understand customer preferences, complete registrations, conduct surveys, and deliver more personalized support.

BotSailor’s User Input Flow allows you to ask users a series of questions and automatically store their answers in system or custom fields.

It supports:

  • Free-text questions
  • Multiple-choice questions
  • Input validation
  • Google Sheets integration
  • Webhooks

With BotSailor, you can turn your Telegram chatbot into a structured telegram bot form where users provide information directly inside the conversation.

Instead of using a traditional external form, businesses can create a telegram bot input form that collects customer details while keeping users inside Telegram.

This type of telegram automation helps businesses collect organized information automatically, reduce manual data entry, and improve customer interactions.

A properly designed telegram bot data collection workflow can be used for:

  • Lead generation
  • Customer registration
  • Surveys
  • Feedback collection
  • Booking requests
  • Product preference tracking

What Is a User Input Flow?

A User Input Flow is a question-based chatbot campaign.

It works like an interactive form inside the conversation. The bot asks one question at a time, receives the user’s answer, and saves it in a selected field.

With BotSailor, this process works like a telegram bot form where users complete questions directly through the Telegram chat interface.

BotSailor provides two main question formats:

  • Free Keyboard Input: The user types an answer.
  • Multiple Choice: The user selects an answer from predefined options.

Every answer can be stored in either a Custom Field created by you or a built-in System Field .

This makes User Input Flow useful for creating a complete telegram bot input form that captures customer information in a structured way.

Through telegram chatbot automation , businesses can connect questions, validations, and data storage without requiring coding knowledge.

Complete Flow Structure

Trigger Keyword → Welcome Text → User Input Flow → Name Question → Phone Number Question → Multiple-Choice Question → Thank-You Message → Test on Telegram

Step 1: Go to Chatbot Manager

Log in to your BotSailor account and open Chatbot Manager from the dashboard.

This is where you can view, connect, and manage your Telegram bots.

The Chatbot Manager provides access to the tools needed to build telegram chatbot automation workflows, including user input collection, keyword replies, and conversation flows.

Step 2: Connect Your Telegram Bot

Select the option to connect a Telegram bot.

Complete the required Telegram bot connection process and make sure the correct bot appears in your BotSailor account.

After connecting it, select the Telegram bot you want to configure.

BotSailor offers a no-code Telegram bot builder that can automate replies, collect lead information, qualify users, and manage conversations through a visual interface.

Using this connection, businesses can create a complete telegram bot data collection system where user responses are collected automatically.

A connected bot allows you to create a telegram bot input form that works directly inside Telegram without sending users to another website.

Step 3: Open Keyword Replies

After selecting the Telegram bot, navigate to:

Automation → Keyword Replies

Click the button to create a new keyword reply or open the Flow Builder.

Keyword replies determine which words will start the automated conversation.

These triggers are the starting point of your telegram automation workflow.

When a user sends a configured keyword, the bot can launch a conversation that includes:

  • Welcome messages
  • Data collection questions
  • Validation steps
  • Confirmation messages

This creates a smooth telegram chatbot automation experience where users provide information naturally through chat.

Step 4: Set Up the Trigger Message

Configure the keywords that users can send to activate the bot flow.

For example, you can add:

hello

hi

start

Select the appropriate keyword-matching method.

In the attached example, String Match is used.

Whenever a Telegram user sends one of the configured keywords, the automation will begin.

The trigger starts the telegram bot form process by connecting the user with the data collection flow.

A well-configured trigger helps your telegram bot input form collect information from users at the right moment.

Step 5: Create the Initial Text Reply

Configure the keywords that users can send to activate the bot flow.

For example, you can add:

hello

hi

start

Select the appropriate keyword-matching method.

In the attached example, String Match is used.

Whenever a Telegram user sends one of the configured keywords, the automation will begin.

The trigger starts the telegram bot form process by connecting the user with the data collection flow.

A well-configured trigger helps your telegram bot input form collect information from users at the right moment.

Step 6: Attach a User Input Flow Block

From the Flow Blocks panel, locate the Data Collection section.

Drag the User Input Flow block onto the canvas and connect it to the initial Text block.

The connection should look like this:

Start Bot Flow → Text Message → User Input Flow

The User Input Flow block converts your chatbot into a structured telegram bot input form .

It allows businesses to collect information such as names, phone numbers, preferences, and feedback through a guided conversation.

Using this feature with telegram automation makes it easier to collect customer data without requiring manual follow-ups.

Step 7: Create the User Input Campaign

Click the User Input Flow block to open its configuration panel.

Under User Input Flow, choose:

Add New Input Flow

Enter a descriptive campaign name.

In this example, the campaign name is:

Flavor

A campaign name helps you identify and manage the question flow later.

BotSailor also provides optional fields for sending collected information to Google Sheets or an external webhook.

This feature helps businesses create a complete telegram bot data collection workflow where customer responses can be stored, organized, and processed automatically.

By using User Input Flow as a telegram bot form , businesses can collect valuable information without asking users to leave Telegram.

Click Save Changes after entering the campaign information.

A well-structured telegram bot input form allows you to create multiple questions, save answers into custom fields, and build personalized customer journeys.

A new question block will appear.

Configure it as follows:

Question Type

Select:

Free Keyboard Input

This option allows the user to type a free-form response.

Question

What’s your name?

Reply Validation

Choose:

Text

This tells the bot to expect a text-based answer.

Save Response

Under Save to Custom Field, select or create:

Name

The user’s answer will now be saved in the Name custom field.

For example, when a user replies with:

“Istiaque”

BotSailor will store “Istiaque” under that subscriber’s Name field.

Click Save Changes.

This question becomes the first step of your telegram bot form because it collects basic customer information directly inside the chat.

Using telegram automation, the bot can automatically ask questions, validate responses, and store answers without manual data entry.

Save Response

Select or create a custom field named:

Phone

Alternatively, use an appropriate built-in phone system field when available.

Step 10: Add a Multiple-Choice Question

Click Next Question again to create the third question.

This time, choose:

Multiple Choice

Multiple-choice questions allow users to select an answer from predefined options instead of typing manually.

Question

Enter:

What’s your favorite flavor?

Answer Options

Add the following options:

Caramel

Tiramisu

Use the Add More button when you need additional options.

These choices will appear as selectable buttons in the Telegram conversation.

Multiple-choice questions make your telegram bot form easier to complete because users can quickly select an option instead of typing a response.

This improves the overall telegram automation experience by reducing user effort.

Step 11: Save the Selected Option in a Custom Field

For the multiple-choice question, set the Reply Type to:

Text

Under Save Response, create or select the custom field:

Flavor

When the user selects:

  • Caramel
  • Tiramisu

The selected option will automatically be saved in the Flavor field.

Click Save Changes .

Saving responses into custom fields allows businesses to use collected data later for segmentation, follow-ups, and personalized communication.

This makes the telegram bot data collection process more effective because every answer is stored in an organized format.

With BotSailor, a telegram bot input form can collect different types of information and automatically connect responses with subscriber profiles.

Step 12: Add a Thank-You Message

After configuring the final question, use the Thank You Message connection point to attach another Text block.

Write a closing message such as:

Thanks for your reply.

You can also use a more detailed confirmation message:

Thank you! We have successfully received your information. Our team will contact you if any additional details are required.

BotSailor recommends ending a multi-question flow with a clear thank-you or confirmation message.

A confirmation message helps complete the telegram bot form experience by informing users that their information has been successfully collected.

This final step improves the user experience because the subscriber understands that the telegram bot data collection process has been completed successfully.

Using telegram automation , businesses can automatically collect information and provide confirmation without requiring manual replies.

Step 13: Review the Complete Flow

Your completed flow should contain the following blocks:

Start Bot Flow

↓

Welcome Text

↓

User Input Flow

↓

Name Question

↓

Phone Number Question

↓

Favorite Flavor Question

↓

Thank-You Text

Check that every block is connected correctly.

An unconnected block will not be triggered during the conversation.

A complete connection ensures that your telegram chatbot automation workflow runs smoothly from the first trigger keyword to the final confirmation message.

Before publishing, review the complete telegram bot input form and confirm that every question, response field, and message is working properly.

Step 14: Save the Bot Flow

Click the Save button in the upper-right corner of the Flow Builder.

Make sure you have also clicked Save Changes inside every question configuration panel before saving the complete flow.

Saving both individual components and the complete workflow ensures that your telegram automation settings are stored correctly.

Once saved, your telegram bot form is ready for testing.

Step 15: Test the Output on Telegram

Open Telegram and start a conversation with the connected bot.

Send one of your trigger keywords, such as:

hi

The bot should now perform the following sequence:

Bot: What’s your name?

User: Istiaque

Bot: Tell us your phone number.

User: 01706699810

Bot: What’s your favorite flavor?

Options: Caramel | Tiramisu

User: Tiramisu

Bot: Thanks for your reply.

Confirm that:

  • The questions appear in the correct order.
  • The name accepts a text response.
  • The phone number accepts numeric input.
  • The flavor choices appear as buttons.
  • The final thank-you message is delivered.
  • Every answer is saved in the correct custom field.

Testing ensures that your telegram bot input form collects information correctly.

It also confirms that your telegram chatbot automation workflow is successfully managing questions, responses, validations, and data storage.

Tips for Better User Data Collection

Keep each question short and ask only one thing at a time.

Use clear custom-field names such as:

  • Name
  • Phone
  • Flavor

so the collected information remains easy to understand.

Select the correct reply type for every question.

For example:

  • Use Text for names.
  • Use Email for email addresses.
  • Use Number or Phone for contact numbers.
  • Use Multiple Choice for predefined preferences.

Input validation helps reduce incorrect or unusable information.

A properly structured telegram bot data collection system improves data accuracy and makes customer information easier to manage.

Using a conversational telegram bot form instead of a traditional form can increase completion rates because users provide information directly inside Telegram.

Always test the complete flow on Telegram before using it with real customers.

Check:

  • Conversation sequence
  • Answer validation
  • Custom-field mapping
  • Button options
  • Closing message
