How to Add Unsubscribe and Resubscribe Buttons to a Telegram Bot in BotSailor (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step 1: Open the Chatbot Manager in BotSailor

First, log in to your BotSailor account and open the Chatbot Manager.

From the chatbot dashboard, select the Telegram bot where you want to add the subscription buttons.

Process Flow:

➡️ Login to BotSailor

➡️ Open Chatbot Manager

➡️ Select Your Telegram Bot

Step 2: Connect Your Telegram Bot

After opening the Chatbot Manager, make sure your Telegram bot is connected with BotSailor.

Select your Telegram bot from the bot list and continue with the automation setup.

Once connected, you can create automated replies, buttons, and user actions.

Process Flow:

➡️ Chatbot Manager

➡️ Select Telegram Bot

➡️ Confirm Bot Connection

Step 3: Go to Automation Section

Now navigate to the Automation section from your BotSailor dashboard.

Automation is where you can manage keyword replies, follow-up sequences, and quick actions for your bot.

Process Flow:

➡️ Select Telegram Bot

➡️ Click Automation

➡️ Open Automation Settings

Step 4: Open Quick Actions

Inside the Automation section, go to the Quick Actions tab.

Here you will find different system action buttons including:

Get Started

No Match

Unsubscribe

Resubscribe

Phone Reply

Email Reply

Location Reply

For this setup, we need to configure:

✅ Unsubscribe

✅ Resubscribe

Process Flow:

➡️ Automation

➡️ Quick Actions

➡️ Select Unsubscribe

➡️ Select Resubscribe

Step 5: Configure the Resubscribe Action Button

Click on the Resubscribe option.

You need to configure the button settings:

Button Title: Resubscribe

When user presses the button: System Default Action Button

Action Type: Re-subscribe

After selecting the required settings, save the configuration.

This allows users who previously unsubscribed to join your bot messages again.

Process Flow:

➡️ Click Resubscribe

➡️ Configure Button Title

➡️ Select System Default Action Button

➡️ Choose Action Type: Re-subscribe

➡️ Save

Step 6: Configure the Unsubscribe Action Button

Now configure the unsubscribe option.

Click on Unsubscribe and configure:

Button Title: Unsubscribe

When user presses the button: System Default Action Button

Action Type: Unsubscribe

After saving, users will be able to stop receiving bot messages whenever they want.

Process Flow:

➡️ Click Unsubscribe

➡️ Configure Button Title

➡️ Select System Default Action Button

➡️ Choose Action Type: Unsubscribe

➡️ Save

Step 7: Create a Keyword Reply Flow

After configuring the system actions, go back to the Keyword Replies section.

Click the Create button to create a new keyword-triggered flow.

This flow will display your welcome message and subscription buttons when users start interacting with your bot.

Process Flow:

➡️ Automation

➡️ Keyword Replies

➡️ Click Create

Step 8: Add Trigger Keyword in Start Bot Flow

Now create your bot trigger.

Add your preferred keyword under the Start Bot Flow section.

Example:

hello

hi

start

When users send these keywords, the bot flow will automatically start.

➡️ Add Trigger Keyword

➡️ Select Keyword Matching Type

Step 9: Add Welcome Message

After setting the trigger keyword, create a welcome message for your users.

Example:

Hello there! How can I help you today?

This message will appear when users activate the bot.

Process Flow:

➡️ Add Text Block

➡️ Write Welcome Message

➡️ Connect Next Message

Step 10: Add Subscribe and Unsubscribe Buttons

Now add two buttons below your welcome message:

Subscribe

Unsubscribe

These buttons will allow users to manage their subscription status directly from the conversation.

Process Flow:

➡️ Add Button Block

➡️ Create Subscribe Button

➡️ Create Unsubscribe Button

➡️ Configure Actions

Step 11: Configure Button Actions

For each button, open the button configuration section.

Subscribe Button:

Set:

Button Title: Subscribe

Action Type: Subscribe

Unsubscribe Button:

Set:

Button Title: Unsubscribe

Action Type: Unsubscribe

After completing the setup, click Save.

Process Flow:

➡️ Open Button Settings

➡️ Select Action Type

➡️ Save Configuration

Step 12: Save and Test Your Telegram Bot

After completing all configurations, click the Save button in the Flow Builder.

Now your Telegram bot is ready.

You can test it by opening your Telegram bot and checking:

✅ Welcome message appears

✅ Subscribe button works

✅ Unsubscribe button removes subscription

✅ Resubscribe button allows users to join again
