How to create a Message Template for WhatsApp by BotSailor

There might be a question, why do we need a message template to send a Bot Message to WhatsApp? The answer is, to send a message to those who never contacted you on WhatsApp or have sent a message before 24 hours, we must use a message template to communicate with them. It’s a rule from WhatsApp. So, for any business-initiated message, we should use a message template.

To create a message template follow the instruction below: 

1. Go to the dashboard of the BotSailor -> the Bot Manager -> select a bot account -> click on the message template option.

Sometimes you need to use variables in the message template.

To create a variable, follow the instructions below:

1. Scroll down to Template Variable section of the page. 
2. Click on the Create button -> write the variable name in the variable name field -> click on the save button.

Scroll up to the Message Template Settings section: 

1. Click on the Create button -> fill out the message template form. 
2. Provide a name in the template name field -> write a message in the message body. 
3. Insert the template variable in the message body if needed. 
4. Write a Footer text in the Footer text field. It is not required, optional. 
5. If you need to add quick reply, select the Quick Reply option. 
6. Write button text in the Button text field. 
7. Click on the save button.  

Before using the message template, you have to check if the status of the message template is approved. You can use the message template, when the status of the message template is approved. 

This message template can be used for broadcasting, live chat, and any integrated message like Shopify and WooCommerce.
