Telegram is a popular messaging platform with a vast user base, offering a range of features and functionalities. One of the standout features of Telegram is the ability to create and interact with bots.

Telegram bot can also be added to a telegram Group to manage the group. Managing a Telegram group can be a challenging task, especially as the group grows in size and activity. However, by leveraging the capabilities of a Telegram bot, group management becomes much more efficient and effective. A Telegram bot can take on various roles, such as a moderator, administrator, or even a dedicated assistant, helping to automate repetitive tasks and streamline group interactions. With a bot in place, administrators can easily perform actions like managing member permissions, enforcing rules, filtering and moderating content, and organizing group activities.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk through the process of creating a Telegram bot and seamlessly integrating it into an existing Telegram bot. By following these instructions, you'll be able to set up your own Telegram bot and leverage its capabilities within the Telegram platform.

Firstly, you need to create a Telegram bot and connect it to BotSailor. We have a different blog on "How to create a Telegram bot and connect it to BotSailor".  If you haven't created a bot and connected it to BotSailor yet, please take a moment to go through this blog.

Once you have created the bot and connected it to BotSailor, creating a group is the next step. However, if you already have a group, you can simply skip this step.

After you have added the bot to the group as member now, you need to make the bot as admin.

To make the bot admin of the group from the phone app, go to the group and click on the edit button first. Then go to administration and click on the “Add admin” button. This will show the members of the group. Select the bot account, review the permissions the bot will get. Finally, click on the “Done” button.

(By Using Desktop App)

From the telegram group click on the three dots menu and go to "Manage group". Click on the "Members" option and click on the Add Members button. Search for the bot account. Select the bot account and click on Add button.

Now, once again, navigate to the "Manage Group" options. From there, go to "Administrators" and click on the "Add Administrator" option. Choose the bot account and click on the "Save" button. That's it!
