BotSailor integrates official WhatsApp partner gateways like Razorpay and PayU for Indian merchants to power this functionality.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

 

  • A verified WhatsApp number connected to BotSailor

  • WhatsApp Payment API enabled by Meta (only available in supported regions like India)

 

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Connect a Payment Gateway

 

  • Go to whatsapp ecommerce catalog → Payment settings



 

  • Choose Razorpay, PayU or UPI
  • Fill in:

    • Payment Profile Name
    • Public Key / Merchant ID
    • Secret Key
    • Callback URL (if required)
  • Save and activate the gateway

 

📌 You can set up both Razorpay, PayU and UPI, but only one will be active for WhatsApp Payment at a time.

 

Step 2: Enable WhatsApp Pay for Catalog

 

  • Navigate to WhatsApp Catalogue Settings
  • Scroll down to the Payment
  • Select whatsapp pay from the right side bar
  • Select the payment gateway you connected in Step 2
  • Fill necessary informations
  • Save changes

 

✅ Once enabled, every product with a "Buy Now" button will now display WhatsApp Pay functionality.

Step 3: Checkout Flow in WhatsApp

When a customer taps “Buy Now” on a catalog item:

 

  • BotSailor will generate a unique payment link from Razorpay/PayU
  • This link will open inside WhatsApp (in-app browser)
  • After successful payment:

    • BotSailor sends an order confirmation
    • Order is logged in the backend under Catalogue Orders
    • Payment status is marked as “Paid”
