What Is a WhatsApp Chat Widget?

A WhatsApp chat widget is a clickable WhatsApp button added to your website that lets visitors start a WhatsApp conversation with your business directly from the page, without saving your number first. Paired with BotSailor's WhatsApp automation tools, every conversation that starts from the widget can be automatically answered, routed, or followed up on.

Result

To integrate the widget on your website, click the Embed Code (</>) button, copy the generated script, and paste it into your website's HTML.

A QR code is also generated alongside the embed code and short-link — print it on flyers, menus, or in-store displays so customers can scan their way straight into a WhatsApp chat.

Congratulations! Your chat widget is now active and ready to improve customer interaction on your website.

Next Steps

Once you're ready to go live, check where your website platform lets you add custom code — most platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and others) have a dedicated "Custom HTML," "Header Scripts," or "Embed Code" section. Paste the JavaScript snippet from the Result section there so the widget appears across your site.
