How do I retrieve the embed code for a widget?
Click the Embed Code button next to your desired widget, copy the provided JavaScript snippet, and paste it into your website's HTML to activate the widget.
Can I edit an existing widget without recreating it?
Yes, click the Edit button next to your widget. You can modify appearance, positioning, and behavior. Changes are applied immediately after saving.
How do I temporarily disable a chat widget?
Use the Disable button to turn off the widget without removing it. You can click the same button again (now labeled Enable) to reactivate it later.
What happens if I disconnect a chat widget?
When you click Disconnect, the widget is permanently removed from your BotSailor account. If needed again, you must create and configure a new one from scratch.
Why should I periodically review and update chat widgets?
Regular updates ensure your widget aligns with your brand, maximizes user engagement, and reflects any design or functionality changes on your website.
Can I manage multiple widgets for different websites or pages?
Yes, BotSailor allows you to manage multiple widgets independently, each with its own configuration and embed code.
Is it safe to disable the widget during maintenance?
Absolutely. Disabling the widget during downtime or maintenance ensures users don’t face broken chat interfaces and keeps interactions smooth.
Will disabling a widget affect the saved data or configuration?
No, disabling only hides the widget from your site. All settings and previous subscriber data are retained unless you choose to disconnect it entirely.
Do I need to re-embed the code after editing the widget?
No. Once the code is embedded on your site, any updates made in BotSailor’s dashboard will automatically reflect in the live widget.
