Introduction

BotSailor makes managing Telegram groups seamless and professional. With its Telegram Bot Manager and Group Subscriber modules, you can configure automated welcome messages, mute disruptive members, or ban them from the group—all in just a few clicks. These powerful moderation tools help you maintain an engaging and respectful group environment.

In this documentation, we’ll walk you through:

  • Setting up an automated welcome message using Action Buttons.

  • Muting a subscriber temporarily.

  • Banning a subscriber from the group.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Configure Auto-Welcome Message

  1. Go to Telegram Bot Manager from the sidebar.

  2. Select your bot account (e.g., Botsailorzzzz_bot).

  3. Click on Action Buttons from the bot settings list.

  4. Click on the Get-started action under Action Button Settings.

  1. You will be directed to the Bot Flow Editor.

  2. In the message block, customize the welcome message as per your needs.

  3. Save the settings.

✅ When a user joins and initiates the bot, they will receive the personalized welcome message instantly.

✅ Step 2: Test the Welcome Message in Telegram Group

Once you've configured the Get Started action with a custom welcome message, it's essential to test that everything is working correctly.

Steps to Test:

  1. Go to your Telegram Group where the BotSailor bot is added and promoted as admin.

  2. Add a new member (or use a secondary Telegram account).

  3. From the new user’s side, type the trigger keyword (usually start/hi) or click on Start in the bot’s private chat.

  4. The bot should now:

    • Send the personalized welcome message you configured.

    • Show any attached buttons such as “Go to Website”, flow triggers, or additional messages if the user triggers any bot.

✅ Success Indicator: If the user sees the correct message and buttons (like in your screenshot with "Hi Botslawn..." and “Go to Website”), your configuration is working perfectly.

📌 Additional Notes:

  • If the bot doesn’t respond:

    • Ensure the bot is still an admin of the group.

    • Confirm that the Get Started flow is properly saved and published.

    • Check if the subscriber appears in BotSailor’s Group Subscriber list.

    • Confirm the user has initiated the bot interaction.

Step 3: Mute a Subscriber

  1. Go to Telegram Group Manager → Group Subscriber.

  2. Find the subscriber you want to mute.

  3. Click the speaker icon (🔇) beside the subscriber.
  4. A popup will appear to set the mute duration (in hours).

  5. Enter the duration (e.g., 2) and click Mute.

🔁 To unmute, click the same speaker icon again.

Step4: Ban a Subscriber

  1. In the Group Subscriber section, find the subscriber you want to ban.

  2. Click the ban icon (🚫) next to their name.

  3. Confirm the ban action in the popup.

🔁 If you want to re-add the banned member, you must manually add them again to the group from Telegram.
